elen M. Beckerle
94, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the Heritage Center. Helen was born on October 25, 1913, to John and Caroline Nieten.
Helen was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved being with family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was lovingly known as ?Smiley? at the Heritage Center. Helen was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Helen is survived by her sons, Eugene Beckerle and his wife, Minnie of Evansville; Carl Beckerle and his wife, Kacy of Newburgh; Mike Beckerle and his wife, Doris of Wadesville; and John ?Red? Beckerle and his wife, Peggy of Lynnville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Lillian Morell of Evansville.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl W. Beckerle, in 1970; her grandson, Carl David Beckerle; her brothers, Albert Nieten, Clarence Nieten and John Nieten; and a sister, Theresa Weiss.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 5, at 1:45 p.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Avenue, and continued at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Jay Davidson officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers and staff at the Heritage Center and Heritage Hospice for their loving care of Helen.
