Beckerle 94, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the Heritage Center. Helen was born on October 25, 1913, to John and Caroline Nieten. Helen was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved being with family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was lovingly known as ?Smiley? at the Heritage Center. Helen was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Helen is survived by her sons, Eugene Beckerle and his wife, Minnie of Evansville; Carl Beckerle and his wife, Kacy of Newburgh; Mike Beckerle and his wife, Doris of Wadesville; and John ?Red? Beckerle and his wife, Peggy of Lynnville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and her sister, Lillian Morell of Evansville. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl W. Beckerle, in 1970; her grandson, Carl David Beckerle; her brothers, Albert Nieten, Clarence Nieten and John Nieten; and a sister, Theresa Weiss. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 5, at 1:45 p.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Avenue, and continued at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Jay Davidson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 704 First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
