Nial L. Goebel
EDGERTON - Nial L. Goebel, 81, of Edgerton, died [05 May 1995] at 12:09 p.m. in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan where he had been a patient. Mr. Goebel was a lifelong area resident. He had been employed throughout the years by Lutterbein Lumber Company and Clair Pahl as a carpenter, by the Aro Corporation during World War II and retired from Universal Tool as a maintenance foreman in 1974. After retirement, he helped his brother, Clair, in farming. Mr. Goebel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #1494 in Edgerton. Nial L. Goebel was born on Dec. 26, 1913, in Edgerton, the son of Victoria B. (Stark) and Norbert B. Goebel. He married Helen DeLucenay on Oct. 6, 1936 in Waterloo, Ind., and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters; Beverly Curry of Sharpsville, Ind.; Mrs. Paul (Judith) Brown of Tracy, Calif.; Mrs. Chuck (Jeanette) Orr of Jackson, Mich.; Dianna Goebel of Montpelier; three brothers, Maurice of Decatur, Ind.; Clair and Edward both of Edgerton; six sisters, Alice Denney and Rita Jackson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Muriel Hug of Edon; Laura Kline of Sebring, Fla.; Imelda Snider of Columbia City, Ind.; and Hilda Green of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cletus and Basil, and one son.
Services will be Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Father Robert Tucceri officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus #1494 in Edgerton.
