Charles J. "Red" Fyock, 89, of Springettsbury Township, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Violet R. (Carnes) Fyock. The couple observed their 54th wedding anniversary Aug. 30.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Everhart-Jackson-Heffner Funeral Home Inc., 1205 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Fyock was born Dec. 10, 1906, in Hooversville, Cambria County. He was the son of the late David J. and Mary (Fisher) Fyock.
He retired in 1982 from Beverage Transportation, where he was a diesel mechanic. He was a member of Commonwealth Fire Company 1, York County Firemen's Association, West Manchester Mall Walkers, and American Association of Retired Persons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Headquarters and Service Company 1277th Engineer Combat Battalion.
Mr. Fyock also is survived by a son, Robert L. Fyock of York; and a sister, Edna Robinetti of Edgewater, Md.
