Justin E. Deutscher, much-loved son, brother and friend, died suddenly in the early hours of Aug. 11, 2004, at the age of 23.
Justin, the son of Terry D. and Cindy S. (Pape) Deutscher, was born in Billings on Jan. 21, 1981. Being born and raised in Billings, Justin was a true "Montana Star." Justin graduated with high honors from Billings Senior High in 1999. After graduation, Justin moved to Beaverton, Ore., for a year before returning to enroll at MSU-B. Justin was a gifted athlete, enjoyed many years playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was a member of the Billings Royals American Legion baseball team for several years. He twice represented Billings in the Hershey Track and Field competition and at 14 years old brought home a national championship. Most recently, Justin was testing his skills as an actor with Venture Theatre and as a poet. Justin had 1,000 friends and truly loved to spend time with them, bringing laughter and quick wit to any gathering.
Justin is survived by his parents; his brother Matthew; uncles Gary (Lloyd Ann), Gerald (Sonok), Allan (Marijke), and Rich (Kathy) Deutscher, Tim (Lynn) Hankel, Guy Worthington, Pat Worthington, Gail Pape; aunts, Jan, Nancy and Beckie Cariveau, and Valerie Wilson; grandparents, Hertha Deutscher and John and Pat Richard. Also many, many cousins throughout the world.
Preceding Justin in death was his grandfather, Gerhardt Deutscher and his aunt Arlene Deutscher Hankel.
May God hold you in his loving embrace until we meet again.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. West. Visitation will be at Smith Downtown Chapel, 120 N. 26th, until noon Saturday. Cremation will follow.
