Laura M. (Mettler) Quaschnick (1918 - 2008) | Visit Guest Book Laura M. Quaschnick went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2008. She was born June 12, 1918 in Lodi, California to Henry F. and Erna I. Mettler. Laura graduated from Harmony Grove School and Lodi Union High School. Upon high school graduation she went to work for Bear Creek Winery and later for Guild Winery from which she retired after 52 years. Laura married Harold L. Quaschnick on January 14, 1956 at Zion Reformed Church of which she was a life time member. Laura truly loved her family and will be greatly missed. We will all remember the homemade breads and kuchens she loved to share with her family and friends. She did love to cook and share. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Harold L. Quaschnick and son, Duane Quaschnick, five brothers, Hubert, Vernon, Stanley, Charlie and Lloyd Mettler; two sisters, Viola Racer and Jeannie Culbertson as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Red, Irvine and Rich Mettler. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 17th, at Lodi Memorial Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service conducted by Pastor Matt Duerr at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Reformed Church with a potluck luncheon to follow.
