Alliene L. Litch
Died: Monday, November 07, 2005
Alliene Lucille Litch, 86, a resident at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005.
A native of Harrison County, born Jan. 24, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Sims Brown.
She was a retired nurse's aid and volunteer at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville and St. Anne's Society.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Litch Sr., and two sons, Marvin J. (Junie) Jr. and Donald L. Litch.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Litch of Lanesville; two daughters, Marlene Schneider of Lanesville and Rhonda Truman of Louisville; two brothers, Gerald and Melvin Brown, both of Georgetown; four sisters, Cleo Litch, LaVerne Cline, Bonnie Brown and Shirley Heishman, all of Corydon; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 9, from noon to 9 p.m. with a prayer service in the evening at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiant: Father Harold Ripperger.
Pallbearers: Matthew and Dale Schneider, Lee Truman, Trevor and Toby Litch, and Joey Knable.
Honorary pallbearers: Pam Schneider, Patty Bliss, Sarah Litch, Maggie Happel, Terri Waggoner, Penny Sweitzer, and Lauren and Allison Truman.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Providence Retirement Home.
