WHITEWATER, Kan. ? Ruth Ann Hunt Case, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Wheatstate Manor Nursing Home in Whitewater, Kan. She was 78.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Eichelberger, chaplain, officiating. Burial will follow at¬Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Ruth was born on Jan. 15, 1932 to the late Henry Joseph Schieffer and the late Alice Francis Quick Schieffer in Perry. She attended Ponca City schools.
She married George Hunt on May 27, 1950 and to this union four children were born. They built their home in Kildare and later moved to Ponca City on North Union. Together they enjoyed farming, raising cattle and taking care of family.
On Feb. 14, 1981 she married Larry Case, they spent much of their time traveling the United States and trail riding around Kay and Osage Counties. She worked as a secretary for Security National Bank.
Ruth¬was a country girl at heart¬who loved the outdoors, farm life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as sewing, riding horses and playing cards. In recent years she enjoyed daily rides around the countryside with her son David. Ruth lived most of her life in Ponca City and also lived a short time in El Dorado, Kan., and most recently resided in Whitewater, Kan.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Long of El Dorado, Kan., Joneal Hunt and his wife Michelle and David Hunt of Ponca City;¬11 grandchildren, Ann Hagar and husband Ron, Brian Thompson and wife Candy, Jason Hunt and wife MaryBeth, Derek¬Hunt and wife Laura, Jalen, Brannon, Dawson, Joey, Cody,¬Bubba and Destiny Hunt; seven great-grandchildren, Brylee and Brady Thompson, Bryce, Kaitlyn and Ashlea Hagar, Ashton and Porter Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George Hunt and Larry Case; and son, Steven J.¬Hunt.
Casket bearers will be Brian Thompson, Ron Hagar, Jason Hunt, Derek Hunt, Joey Hunt and Bob Streeter.
Ruth was a very loving and giving woman who will always be in the hearts and thoughts of her family.
