Stanley E. Memmer, 72 Stanley E. Memmer, 72, of Lafayette, died at 1:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at St. Mary's Health Care. Born Feb. 2, 1934, in Lafayette, he was a 1953 graduate of Jefferson High School and a life resident. He served with the Marines during the Korean War. His marriage was to Joan Echler on July 25, 1959, in Delphi, and she survives. Mr. Memmer worked as a carpenter for Purdue University and served on the Lafayette Fire Department for 20 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of American Legion Post 11 in Lafayette. He enjoyed woodworking and paint by numbers. Surviving with his wife are a son, Steven E. Memmer of Lafayette; and two daughters, Diane Culver (husband: Douglas) of Brookston and Vicki Memmer of Hillsboro. Friends may call 1 hour prior to 2 p.m. service Saturday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Interment Rest Haven Memorial Park. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
