Funeral mass for Bernard W. Archer, 48, of Caldwell route
1, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday inb St. Michael's catholic
Church at Carlisle with Rev. rudolph Wargo officiating. Burial
will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Archer took his own life shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday
when he plunged from a fifth floor window at Good Samaritan
Hospital where he was admitted Monday for medical treatment.
D. B. W. Gilliotte, acting Muskingum County coroner, gave a
verdict of suicide. He was born July 30, 1915 in Noble County, a son of William
and Cecelia Crum Archer of Caldwell route 1. He was a farmer
and also worked for the Noble County Highway Department. Mr. Archer was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church
in Carlisle, the Holy Name society of the church and Carlisle
grange. Surviving in addition to his parents are his widow, Betty; six
daughters, Marlene, Nancy, Patty, Mary Jane, Becky Jo and
Wanda Archer and two sons, Danny and Randy Archer, all of
the home; three brothers, Paul of Harrietsville and James
and Andrew Archer of Calswell and three sisters, Mrs. Clara
Morrison of Marietta, Mrs. Irene Hupp of near Summerfield
and Mrs. Luck Dick of Woodsfield. The body was taken to the Bruback Funeral Home in Sum-
merfield where friends may call from 2 to 4 anbd 7 to 9 p.m.
