Hilda Hedinger, 103, of Martinsville, died 11:35 a.m. Wednesday at her residence.
Born Dec. 17, 1905, in St. Henry, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Jochem) Bredhold.
She married Joseph Hedinger Oct. 12, 1926, and he preceded her in death.
Hilda worked as a cook for the Indianapolis Public Schools in the cafeteria, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville, and the Daughters of Isabella in Jasper.
Survivors include one son, Melvin Hedinger of Mooresville; two daughters, Virginia Walker of Avon and Betty Tague of Martinsville; a foster son, John Dugan of Martinsville; six grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hedinger, March 22, 1971; her father, Joseph Bredhold; her mother, Margaret (Jochem) Bredhold; five sisters, Bertha Bockting, Louise Altmeyer, Verena Wilmes, Ida Weyer and Olivia Bredhold; two brothers, Leonard Bredhold and Hilbert Bredhold; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
