Edward C. Noelle, 95, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Carmel, IN. He was born March 3, 1919 to the late Lydia and Emil Noelle.
Ed graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1937 and from Purdue University in 1941 with a degree in Agriculture. He was a WWII US Army Veteran, serving from 1943-1946, including one year in the European Theatre. He taught agriculture and related sciences in high school in Fairbanks, IN from 1941-1943. In 1977, he retired from Mead Johnson Company after 31 years with the company. Ed was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Evansville Kennel Club.
He loved his family, golf, Purdue sports, and being outdoors. Ed was a quiet, gentle man, full of integrity, and was loved and respected by many.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur, and by sisters, Edna Morton, Esther Robertson, and Marie Taylor.
Ed is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Folz); sons, James E. (Shelley) of Carmel, IN, William A. (Jane) of Ligonier, IN, and Robert S. (Vicki) of Central Point, OR; seven grandchildren; and, 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Long, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel.
