In the first place, he migrated to Rochester NY in either 1871 or 1875 with his mother and 2 brothers. He is first listed in the Rochester City Directory in 1878, and married Margaret Unknown ! in Rochester in 1882. Between 1882 & 1900 they had 10 children, of whom 6 were living in 1900.Jacob was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 2 Jan 1925, age 77. Margaret was born Apr 1856 in New York State and died at 68; she was also buried in Holy Sepulchre on 2 Jan 1925.Catharine Metzger, Jacob's mother, first appears in the Rochester City Directory in 1874.
