Note: From the Indianapolis Star, Wed. Nov. 26, 1924: "Cornet Funeral Set For Friday - Funeral services for Louis Phillip Cornet, 1947 College avenue, who died yesterday after a long illness, will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at the SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral and burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. Mr. Cornet was born in New Marion, Ripley county, Indiana, Nov. 7, 1864. He came to Indianapolis early in life and married Miss Elizabeth Bates of this city. In 1889 he and his brother, J. G. Cornet, established a grocery store at Nineteenth street and College avenue, where he remained active until early this year when he retired because of ill health. Besides the grocery store, he organized the Grocers' Baking Company and was a director in the Indianapolis Casket Company. He is survived by the widow, his father and five children, Mrs. E. R. Thomas, Mrs. J. G. Naughton, Mrs. A. D. Schaefer, J. P. Cornet and Leo Cornet. Four brothers and two sisters also survive. They are J. G. Cornet and Charles Cornet of this city, Dr. A. L. Cornet of Chicago Heights, Ill.; Lewis Cornet of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Charles Scott and Mrs. Joseph Metz of Indianapolis."
