  [S927] Obituary. Note: From the Herald, Wed. March 22, 1978: "Mrs. Anna T. Alles, 90, of Jasper, died at 8 a.m. today at the home of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jim Alles of Jasper. Mrs. Alles was born Dec. 20, 1887, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Teder) Rasche. She was married on Sept. 24, 1913, in St. Celestine Church to Jacob Alles, who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1941. Mrs. Alles was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Haas, Alles and Seger schools in Marion Township. She was also a Gold Star Mother, her son Oliver having been killed in World War II. Mrs. Alles was a past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 147 and the Alpha Grandmothers Club, a past vice regent of the Daughters of Isabella and a member of the St. Ann Society. Surviving are four sons, Norbert, Jerome (Chick), and Charles (Chuck), all of Jasper, and Hilary of Smithtown, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. C. D. Garrard of Covington, Ky.; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two other sons, Edward, the victim of a 1957 auto accident, and James, also preceded her in death. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery."
