Note: From the Jasper Herald, Fri. 17 Feb. 1939: "Services At St. Anthony for Catherine Alles - Funeral services for Miss Catherine Alles, who died at noon last Sunday at the home of a half-sister, Mrs. Robert Vonderheide, were held in St. Anthony's church at St. Anthony at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Miss Alles had made her home with her half-sister two miles east of Jasper since six months ago, at which time illness forced her to give up her work at Indianapolis. Deceased was born at St. Anthony July 15, 1888, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Betz Alles. She spent most of her life in St. Anthony but had been employed for many years at Indianapolis before her final illness. Surviving are two other half sisters, Mrs. Harry Leonard and Mrs. Robert Wilson of this city, a sister Mrs. August Wehr of St. Anthony, a brother, Jacob Alles of Jasper, and two half-brothers, John and Joseph Alles of St. Anthony."
