SUTTONS BAY - Edmund Charles Steimel, 101, of Suttons Bay, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on Dec. 18, 1902, in Suttons Bay, to Charles and Margaret (Kovarik) Steimel.
Edmund was a retired farmer and a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
He was a great storyteller; he truly loved reminiscing and telling stories to his family and friends, and he had a great sense of humor.
Edmund is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Herman and Irene Schaub; and four brothers, Willard, Julius, Clement and Charles.
A Catholic funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suttons Bay, where a morning Prayer for Holy Saturday for the Deceased will take place at 8:30 a.m. Visitation will then be held until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Michael's Building Fund or to mass intentions.
Arrangements are being handled by Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay.
