Katie Maloney
Katie N. Maloney, 13, of O'Fallon, Ill., born June 21, 1991, in Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Scott Air Force Base Medical Center.
Katie was a high honors student at St. Clare School, O'Fallon, Ill., where she played basketball, soccer and volleyball, ran track, was a member of the Student Council and served on the yearbook committee. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America, and she was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill.
Katie was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Edward Dahm and Charles Maloney; and a sister, Peggy Maloney, in infancy.
Surviving are her parents, Kevin P. and Christine M., nee Dahm, Maloney of O'Fallon, Ill.; two brothers, Kyle and Kevin Maloney, both at home; her maternal grandmother, Dolores L. Dahm of Belleville, Ill.; her paternal grandmother, Regina L. Maloney of O'Fallon, Ill.; aunts and uncles, Lori Dahm of St. Louis, Mo., Carol Dahm of Belleville, Ill., Kenneth (Leslie) Dahm of O'Fallon, Ill., Russell (Kathy) Maloney of St. Jacob, Ill., and Terri Maloney, Mike Maloney and Wanda (John) Stache, all of O'Fallon, Ill.; and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Clare School Athletic Fund, to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill., with Monsignor William Hitpas officiating. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
