Delphin D. "Fritz" Fliehman, 81, of 17426 Industrial Highway, Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Wednesday (June 23, 2010) at the Summit Acres Nursing Home.
He was born May 16, 1929, in Marr, Ohio, the son of Henry and Wilhemina Niemeyer Fliehman. He owned and operated Fritz's Car Wash for 25 years in Caldwell, also worked as a machinist by trade in Denver and Chicago and operated the Roxy Theater in Caldwell for a number of years. Graduated from Woodsfield High School. He was a member of the 50th U.S. Army Band. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. No. 477 in Marietta and former member of the Guernsey County Fish and Game.
On June 24, 1968, he married Marilyn Pickenpaugh Fliehman, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, LouAnn Kathleen Fliehman of Worthington, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mildred Fliehman of Big Pine Key, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Glenn and Robert Fliehman; and one sister, Marie Tabor.
Services, 1 p.m. Saturday at the Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home in Caldwell with the Rev. Will Mullins officiating. Burial in Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, Ohio. Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
