- M. Mildred Lautermilch, 94, of Melmore Street, Tiffin, died at 10:25 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Bettsville, to the late Harry and Margaret (Brickner) Swartzmiller. On June 2, 1943, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married John H. Lautermilch, who died in 1986.
Survivors include Mary (Bob) Grotty of Austin, Texas, John C. "Jack" (Debra) Lautermilch of Findlay, Sue (Ray) Meyers of Defiance, Nancy (Frank) Dore of Tiffin and Christine Magers of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, LaDonna Dickman of Clyde; and sisters-in-law Helen Swartzmiller of Tiffin and Alma Swartzmiller of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Claire, Walter, Richard, and Harold "Jake" Swartzmiller; and a sister, Pauline Baker.
Mrs. Lautermilch was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a loving caregiver to many in addition to her family.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Liberty Township.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113. There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and the rosary will be recited in church 15 minutes prior to Mass.
