  Leroy Hendershot CNHI News Service ? Leroy Hendershot, 56, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Savannah, Ga. Born Aug. 7, 1949, in Rushville, he was the son of Virgil and Martha (Fry) Hendershot; his mother, a Greensburg resident, survives. He married Linda Newlin Dec. 31, 1976; she survives. Mr. Hendershot was a repair technician for AT&T in Columbus for 34 years. He was a member of Big Flatrock Christian Church, where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of the Manilla Lions Club and a labor union. A graduate of Arlington High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors in addition to his mother and wife include two daughters, Jenni (Mrs. Joshua) Turner of Edinburgh and Heather (Mrs. Chris) Marshall of Shelbyville; two brothers, Michael Hendershot of Greensburg and Virgil Hendershot Jr. of Connersville; three sisters, Linda Newbold of New Castle, Joan Temple of Hammond and Rita Hendershot of Florida; and three grandsons. Besides his father he was preceded in death by one brother, David Hendershot. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Revs. Dick Merriman and Becky Gibbons officiating. Private burial will follow.
