Obituary of Walter E. Stoebner
Delmont ? Walter E. Stoebner, 91, went to his heavenly home Saturday, February 8 at his home near Delmont. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 13 at 10:30 am at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12 from 5 to 7 pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.
Walter was born December 17, 1928 to Edward and Martha (Brandt) Stoebner in Tripp. He attended school in Tripp and graduated from Tripp High School. After graduation, Walter began farming near Delmont. He entered the United States Army on April 17, 1951 and served during the Korean War until being honorably discharged on January 16, 1953. After serving his country, he returned to South Dakota and the farm. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Gregerson on December 19, 1986. The couple made their home and raised their children on the farm. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and enjoyed Polka music and Sunday afternoon drives through the country. Walter went to his heavenly home Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home near Delmont at the age of 91.
Grateful for having shared his life are his 7 children: Lori (James) Polreis of Delmont; Loren (Melonnie) Gregerson of Mt. Vernon; Lonnie (Kim) Gregerson of Charles City, IA; Lonna (Tom) Hanson of Roswell; Lee Gregerson of Parkston; Lynn (Lanita) Gregerson of Tripp; and Lisa Goehring of Delmont; a sister, Frances Konrad of Parkston; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha; wife, Jeanette; and 2 brothers, Donald and Raymond.
