Gladys C. Ubelhor
ST. CROIX ? Gladys C. Ubelhor, 81, passed away Thursday January 29, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hunt- ingburg, Indiana.
Gladys was born August 7, 1922 in Apalona, Indiana, the daughter of the late John E. Flamion and Edna K. (Harbaville) Flamion. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Mary Ellen Ubelhor, a son, Michael Ubelhor in infancy, a grandson, Jon M. Ubelhor, and two brothers, Charles and Curtis Flamion. A member of the first graduating class of Oil Township High School in 1940, she married J. Maurice Ubelhor on May 27, 1941 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold, Indiana, and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix. She retired from General Electric in Tell City and enjoyed embroidery and reading. Always friendly, she enjoyed being around people.
Survived by: her husband of 62 years, J. Maurice Ubelhor, St. Croix; a daughter, Anita Davis, St. Croix; four sons, Kenneth Ubelhor, St. Croix, Marvin Ubelhor, Tell City, Gene Ubelhor, Bristow, and Stephen Ubelhor, Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Bernice Lasher, Jasper, Emogene Rogier, St. Croix; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. EST Monday, February 2, 2004, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Guy Mansini OSB will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana, where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
