St. Croix, Indiana
Maurice Ubelhor, 89, passed away at 9:17 PM Monday August 20, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana.
Maurice was born May 17, 1918 in Uniontown, Indiana son of the late August and Rose (Lasher) Ubelhor. He married Gladys C. Flamion May 27, 1941 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold. Gladys passed away in 2004. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Mary Ellen Ubelhor, a son in infancy, James Michael Ubelhor, a grandson Jon M. Ubelhor, three sisters, Agnes Sisson, Rita Kelly, and Reverend Mother Catherine Ubelhor, OCB, and a brother in infancy Gervase Ubelhor.
A lifelong Perry County farmer and carpenter, Maurice was a crafter and woodworker, participating in many area craft shows. He enjoyed country music, playing guitar with local groups including Al Palmer and the Rhythm Rangers and the Cedar Crest Pioneers.
Maurice was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday August 24, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Rev. Guy Mansini OSB will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and from 8:00 until 9:00 AM Friday at Huber Funeral Home 1139 12th Street Tell City where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Holy Cross Cemetery.
