Obituary for Lorena M. Hawk
Lorena M. Hawk, 93 of Carroll Township, passed peacefully at home on February 14, 2017. A daughter of the late John W. and Edith Brubaugh Chilzer, she was born July 31, 1923 in Martins Ferry, OH. Rene was a devoted homemaker who loved tending to wounded animals and spending time with her family. Before her declining health, Rene loved going to Bingo and on bus trips to the Casinos. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Hudson "Budd" Hawk in 2011 and a daughter Lynne Hawk in 2012. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Dianne Days, a son-in-law, Jack Stapelton, her twin sister Lorna Sethman; a sister Helen Riley; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a devoted caregiver Meladie Keefer and husband Bill. The family has decided there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Carpenter's Cross Church on Gilmer Street in Webster, Pastor Henry Frain officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to make donations to Carpenters Cross Church, P.O. Box 23, Webster, PA 15087; Amedysis Hospice of PA, 100 Stoop Drive, Monongahela, PA 15063 or a Charity of One's Choice.
