Norman F. Fyock

OSTERBURG ? FYOCK ? Norman F., 58, Osterburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 4, 2011, at his home. Born Sept. 8, 1952, in Johnstown, son of the late Norman A. and Edythe Mae (Brubaker) Fyock. On July 15, 2000, he married Theresa A. Danowski (McDermott) Fyock. She survives him along with the following family: daughter, Jennifer K., wife of Rhett Heiple, New Cumberland; step- daughter, Coleen M. (McDermott), wife of Jody L. Lund, Bedford; grandchildren, Chandler, Mason, Logan and Nevada Heiple; stepgrandson, Christopher L. Lund; brother, Ray Fyock, Alum Bank; sister, Clare Ann Barefoot, Fishertown; and brother, Daniel Fyock, Schellsburg. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Fred Fyock. He graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School in 1970. Norman was a lifetime member of St. Peter?s Lutheran Church in Osterburg. He retired from PennDOT District 091 after 30 years, where he was a low boy operator. He was a member of Bedford American Legion Post 113. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid collector of Farmall tractors, toys and full size. He enjoyed restoring family tractors, building hay wagons, going to and working at auctions with Stanley Claycomb and Frank and Linda Brumbaugh. He was happiest on a tractor or driving the low boy. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Alum Bank, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, Pastor Donna Wolfinger officiating. Interment, Osterburg Cemetery, with full military rite by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Norman?s name to Bedford American Cancer Society, 3759 Business 220 Suite 202, Bedford, Pa. 15522 or Grane Hospice Care, 105 Gamma Drive Pittsburgh, Pa. 15238.
