Daniel Gettelfinger, 87, succumbed at his home two miles southwest of Ramsey at 11 a.m. Sunday after an illness of several weeks. Gettelfinger, a retired farmer, was born in Greenville, Indiana, and has lived in Harrison and Floyd Counties all his life. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Anna Mary Gettelfinger; four sons, the Rev. Frederick J. Gettelfinger, pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, New Haven, Ky.; the Rev. Joseph D. Gettelfinger, pastor of St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Lebanon, Ky.; Raymond P. Gettelfinger and Gerald A. Gettelfinger, near Ramsey; three daughters, Mrs. Ursula Shidler and Mrs. Agnes Sieg, near Ramsey, and Mrs. Lorena Ebel, St. Paul, Minn.; three brothers, George H. Gettelfinger and Frank J. Gettelfinger, both of Palmyra, and Joseph A. Gettelfinger, Ramsey; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Jacobi, Palmyra, and Mrs. Clara Bush, near Ramsey; 37 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the home at 8:45 central standard time and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Frenchtown, with the Rev. Donald Coakley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Daniel Gettelfinger died Sunday morning at 11:00 o'clock following an illness of several weeks at his home two miles southeast of Ramsey. He was 87 years of age. Funeral services are being held at 8:45 Central Standard Time Wednesday morning, May 1, at the residence and at 9:30 a.m. Central Standard Time at St. Bernard's Catholic Church at Frenchtown, conducted by the Rev. Father Donald Coakley, priest of the Parish. Mr. Gettelfinger was active in dairy cattle production and was an active member of the Harrison County Jersey Cattle Club. He was one of the county's highly esteemed citizens. Mr. Gettelfinger was born at Greenville the son of Frederick and Ursula Fessel Gettelfinger. He spent his entire life in Floyd and Harrison counties. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Mary Ems Gettelfinger, four sons and three daughters, Rev. Frederick J. Gettelfinger who is pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church at New Haven, Ky., Rev. Joseph D. Gettelfinger, pastor of St. Augustine's Catholic Church at Lebanon, Ky., Raymond P. Gettelfinger, Gerald Gettelfinger, Mrs. Earl (Ursula) Shidler and Mrs. Edward (Agnes) Sieg of near Ramsey, and Mrs. Joseph (Loretta) Ebel of St. Paul, Minn.; also by three brothers and two sisters, George H. and Frank J. Gettelfinger and Mrs. Philip (Margaret) Jacobi of Palmyra, Joseph A. Gettelfinger and Mrs. Martin (Clara) Bush of near Ramsey; also thirty-seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
