PROMINENT FARMER DIES SUDDENLY
CALDWELL, O., Feb. 17 - Felix Gerst, 68, prominent Noble
county farmer and oil and gas producer, was found dead at 3:30 o?clock
this afternoon on his farm located in the Middleburg community. The
body was discovered by a daughter, Miss Viola Gerst, who had been
helping her father herd a bunch of cattle a short time before. Dr. M. S.
Reed, Noble county coroner, said death was due to a heart attack
apparently brought on by overexertion.
A lifelong resident of Noble County, he was a son of Leonard
and Elizabeth Fisher Gerst. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic
church at Fulda.
Surviving are two sons, Aloysius of Cleveland and Norbert of
Marietta; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Crum and Mrs. Rita Yontz of near
Caldwell, and Miss Viola of the home; four grandchildren; two brothers,
Ferdanand and Andrew of near Caldwell; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret
Heil of Norwich, Mrs. Catherine Hohman of Fulda, Miss Sylvania Gerst
of Zanesville and Mrs. Adelaide Tornas of Marietta.
The body is at the Estadt funeral home pending arrangements.
