Dora K. Mankins
Dora K. Mankins, 91, former resident of 1005 Third St., Marietta, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 13, 2006) in Marietta Memorial Hospital. She had been a resident of Harmar Place for the past two years.
She was born April 18, 1914, in Whipple, the daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte Kendall. She spent her early life in Salem Township and enjoyed NASCAR racing and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Marietta Bible Center.
She was married to James L. Mankins, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by their son, Larry Mankins, on Jan. 4, 1999.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Mankins of Marietta; one son, David Michael Mankins and his wife, Judith, of Westerville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chad Mankins, Scott Mankins, and Kathy Wark; and one great-grandchild, Sean Mankins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Rev. Myron Guiler officiating. Interment will be in Salem Township (Universalist) Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Sunday until the hour of the services.
