Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan on Tuesday September 18, 2012 at 9:00 am. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Rosary/Vigil at 5:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Shirley lived her life in a simple and quiet manner. Her strong faith was displayed inher love of her church. She and James traveled throughout the United States spending winters in Las Vegas. A highlight for Shirley was to make trips to the casino with her bus buddies. The friendships continued with members of the bowling leagues. Her artistic talents were shown in her creative charcoal art and paintings with finishing and an appreciation of antiques. Her extended family was a highlight spending time together during the holidays where many good meals were enjoyed. Her legacy of love and kindness will be a cherished memory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
