Ralph Fitterer, 87, Bismarck, died January 28, 2006, at a Bismarck hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, February 2, at the Church of St. Anne in Bismarck with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service in Bismarck where a vigil service will be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ralph was born on June 16, 1918, at Glen Ullin, North Dakota, the son of Adam P. and Beata (Meuchel) Fitterer. He married Margaret Schaff on November 9, 1943, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church south of Glen Ullin. They lived on the family farm until moving to Bismarck in 1981. Ralph and Margaret were married for 56 years.
Ralph enjoyed fishing, playing cards, having coffee with his buddies, and working in his yard. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne, St. Joseph Men's Society, Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and the Eagles.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Kennedy of Bandera, Texas, Marilynn Tong of Devils Lake, North Dakota, and Debbie (Mark) Gietzen of Bismarck; his sons, Dale of Fargo and Sid (Michelle) of Bismarck; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; his brothers, John of Portland, Oregon, and Adolf of Fargo; and his sisters, Betty Leingang of Mandan, Lena (Mike) Fitterer of Bismarck, Ann (Frank) Templeton of Portland, Oregon, Ronnie Martin of Portland, Oregon, and Bertie (Tom) Johnson of Salisbury, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret who passed away on September 29, 2000; his parents; his son, Leslie; his daughter-in-law, Camille; his brothers, Tony, Pete, Steve, and Lucas; and his sister, Margaret Getschman.
