Selmer N. Jordheim, 90, Mesa, AZ, formerly of Walcott, ND, died June 6, 2005 in Mesa.
Selmer was born on the family farm near Walcott, ND on January 28, 1915. His parents were Nels and Sissel Jordheim. He had six brothers and one sister all of whom have preceded him in death. He was educated in the Viking Township School and attended the Wahpeton School of Science.
On May 19, 1940, he married Delia Grinaker. Together they raised three children on their family farm. Delia passed away in March of 2000 after 60 years of marriage.
On April 4, 2002 Selmer married Eleanor Dabulis of Mesa, AZ. They lived in Sunland Village.
Selmer loved to play baseball as a youth and was a pitcher in the Southern ND League. He was a member of the Walcott Lutheran Church and promoted their annual lutefisk dinner on the radio. He was the master of ceremonies of the Richland County March of Dimes talent show and the North Dakota Crop Show in Wyndmere.
He loved the land and volunteered his services at the Crop Improvement Board, the Garrison Conservancy District, the ND Farm Bureau and many other organizations that promoted agriculture. He received a number of recognitions for his farm and ranch practices and was honored for his many volunteer activities.
Selmer had a great sense of humor and was well known as an entertainer and Emcee at banquets, conventions and nursing homes in ND, SD and MN. When he retired he moved to Mesa, AZ where he played a mouth organ and told Norwegian jokes with the Tower Point Harmonica Band. He coordinated the monthly ND Breakfast at Sunland Village and was heard broadcasting live every week on KFGO radio. His show was called the "News & Views from Arizona" was filled with humor and a little bit of factual information. The "Wild Norwegian from Walcott" was always on the go looking for a new challenge and a way to help his fellow man.
He is survived by his second wife, Eleanor (Dabulis) Jordheim of Mesa, AZ, his three children, Sharon (Roman) Rezac, Gary (Lois) Jordheim and Neil (Nancy) Jordheim, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Walcott Cemetery Fund or Hospice.

She was born April 27, 1919 in Beardstown, IL, the ninth and youngest child of John and Christina Shork. She married George P. Dooling in 1939 and together they raised six children. They moved to Mesa, AZ in 1978 but were only here a short while when after 40 years of marriage she was left a widow in 1979. She married Leonard Dabulis in 1984 and they traveled to Europe, went to dances and spent the summers up north in the White Mountains until he died in 1996. She did not intend to marry again until her neighbor came courting and she married Selmer Jordheim in 2002. It was a short marriage as she was once again widowed in 2005. Eleanor had many, many friends with whom she kept in touch over the years. She enjoyed playing any kind of cards, loved to sew, enjoyed needle work, puzzles, painting and crafts, loved to dance and until her failing health loved to go to garage sales. She was preceded in death by her thre e husbands and her first born, Mary Ann Hall. She is survived by her other five children: Patricia (TeeCee) and Roy Chandler of Mesa, Kathleen and Edward Smith of Scottsdale, John and Cindy Dooling of Tucson, Tom Dooling of Henderson, NV and Chris and David Buchanan of Tempe. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary Chapel, 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Rd., Mesa, AZ 85204 with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Hospice of the Valley , 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
