Pierce, 92, of Rootstown, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at Akron City Hospital Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1915, in Suffield, to John and Emma (Reiger) Weigand. She enjoyed playing cards to the end, with friends and family. She was a Lifetime Member of St. Josephs Church. She is survived by sons, Charles (Beverly) Pierce of Carrolton, William (Sandra) Pierce of Canal Fulton, and Ralph (Edna) Pierce of Mogadore; daughters, Grace (Budd) Barger of Poland, Theresa Feist of Tallmadge, Jane (Frank) Admonius of Alliance, Mary (Tom) Hackett of Springfield, and Dianne (Sereno) McCreery of Rootstown; twenty three grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sister-in- law, Alice Weigand of Akron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence B. Pierce; son, Richard Pierce; grandson, Jimmy Darrough; granddaughters, Debra Diane Pierce and Edna Pierce; and eleven brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, April 30 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, May 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward Wieczorek officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Randolph.
