  [S927] Obituary. Julia A. Daly, 80 DELPHI -- Julia Anna Hubertz Daly, 80, of Delphi, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. Born Oct. 27, 1925, to the late Joseph Hubertz and Amelia Becker Hubertz in Tippecanoe County, she was a 1944 graduate of Monitor High School. She was a resident of Delphi from 1953 until moving to Lafayette in 1990. She moved back to Delphi in 2001. Her marriage was to Joseph R. "Dick" Daly on Jan. 4, 1947, in Lafayette, and he preceded her on Dec. 11, 1992. Mrs. Daly worked at Haywood Tag Company and A&P before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. She was also a member of Altar Rosary Society and Home Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Daly enjoyed sewing, reading, word puzzles and high school basketball. Surviving are seven daughters, Mary Daly (husband: Nick Wilhelm) of Burbank, Calif., Susan Daly of Sugar Hill, Ga., Jo Ann Carr (husband: David) of Madison, Wis., Maureen Parker (husband: Gene) of Cutler, Brenda Daly Reid (husband: Don) of Flora, Sara Daly-Brosman (husband: Scott) of Brookston and Christina Daly (husband: Greg Curwen) of Lakewood, Colo.; and a son, Gregory Daly of Lafayette. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi with Scripture service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, Father Peter Vanderkolk and Father Puetz officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son, Michael Steven Daly on July 22, 2002; and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or the Daly Award at University of Wisconsin in Madison.
