Schumacher
Age 86 of Louisville, passed away December 31, 2010 at the Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center following an extended illness. Jim was born July 1, 1924 in Louisville, the son of the late Nicholas and Estella (Wahl) Schumacher. He was a retired farmer and a man well known for his ability to fix just about anything. Although he quit school after his sophomore year, he accumulated a wealth of knowledge no formal education could have taught him. Jim loved to work on equipment of any kind and enjoyed being able to alter things in order to make them work better and held patents on farm equipment implements he designed. Jim and his family were most proud of the two cars they restored at the farm shop, a replica 1903 Oldsmobile and a 1907 Cadillac. He drove school buses for many years and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
Jim is survived by his brothers, Norbert Schumacher of Louisville, William (Dorothy) Schumacher of Massillon and Kenneth (Madelyn) Schumacher of Louisville; sisters, Loretta (Charles) Paytner of Zanesville and Shirley Reichard of Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Menegay officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Jim's family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to In-House Hospice.
