DANHAUER, EDWARD W., 81, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Baptist East.
Born in Louisville, he was a graduate of St. X and U of L, where he was a cheerleader for both schools. Ed was a retired labor relations and personnel director with Southern Standard Carton. He was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, Hurstbourne Country Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Bonnycastle Club. He loved to travel, play tennis, and was an avid Cardinal sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his sister Molly Batts, and his brother Jack Danhauer.
Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years, Alleyne Holladay Danhauer; sisters-in-law, Mae Harris, Ruth Wibking and Ruby Tiller; also by his sister's three sons, Hank, Dan and Chris Batts. He was the beloved uncle of 18 additional nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1220 Hepburn Ave., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ed may be made to the , Mass of the Air or charity of choice.
