Virginia was born September 29, 1924, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late John Joseph and Wonedia Viock Murray. Virginia grew up in Ohio, and later moved to the Detroit area where she attended Cass Technical School and Wayne State College.
In 1943, she was married to James Weir. As a young bride she worked at Park-Davis helping to make the first whopping cough vaccine. Virginia and James were divorced in 1945. In 1946 she was married to Jack Davenport. Virginia and Jack had two children. She began working at the Dayton-Hudson company where she first worked as an "honesty" shopper and later as a shortage auditor. In 1970 she was divorced and later married Roy Rademacher.
Virginia loved Michigan. She lived in Michigan all of her adult life except for a short period of time when she was relocated to Minnesota by the Dayton-Hudson company.
Virginia was a member of Lake Shore Presbyterian Church where she held various positions including those of elder and deacon. She was active in the Red Hat society. She had a deep love for animals and was a highly sought after dog sitter. For many years, Virginia was a Marching Mother for the March of Dimes. Virginia was a good friend and reliable help to anyone in need.
