- BIOGRAPHY: Found an article today that I believe I haven't seen before about the death of my birth mother. She would have been 91 years old today.
BIOGRAPHY: In the article, it says that a Missouri Pacific passenger train was westbound when Mrs. Nina Mae [Petree, Moon] Schweickart and children were on the way from Sedalia to the base hospital, where she had a medical appointment.
The engine caught the back half of the car and knocked it 75 feet, throwing all three occupants out. [my twin and I were almost three months old and not present].
BIOGRAPHY: The last paragraph was what I didn't know...it says that Eddie cleared Richards-Gebaur yesterday morning on a transfer to Amarillo, Tex., and [this part I had heard] was at the family home in Sedalia when the accident occurred.
I was told that he was with me and my twin.
BIOGRAPHY: This article was in the March 15, 1959 Jefferson City, MO News and Tribune. I have printed a copy but have yet to get it to save to any file.
BIOGRAPHY: I further didn't have any records about the Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base as I had always understood it to be Whiteman Air Force Base hospital.
