• Notes

  Roy left home at nineteen, was a barber, went to Nebraska first and then to Oklahoma. He was married, divorced, went into the service for World War l, went to France with six weeks training. Marched down the streets of Paris on the Forth of July, 1917, and fought all through the rest of the war, was in the trenches for seventy days without relief, and didn't get sent home until a year after the war was over. He married again and that resulted in a divorce, too, as his wife left him for another man. He died in November 1968, from hardening of the arteries.
