Birth: Mar. 23, 1855 Oswego County New York, USA Death: Feb. 4, 1915 Shelby County Illinois, USA An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on February 11, 1915, for Mrs. Mary Burkhart, stated that she had died at her home the previous Thursday [February 4, 1915]. Mrs. Burkhart's maiden name was Mary Fagen. She was born is Oswego, N. Y., March 23, 1855, her parents being Michael and Rose [McHenry] Fagen. On the 17th of February, 1880, she was married to the late David Burkhart. She was the mother of five children, two of whom were deceased. One son had died five years earlier and the other, Joe Burkhart, had died only 12 weeks before her death. The surviving children were Misses Rose and Julia Burkhart and Mrs. Lena Terry. Also surviving were three brothers, namely: Mike Fagen of Shelbyville, John Fagen of East St. Louis, and Wm. H. Fagen of Decatur. Family links: Parents: Andrew W.
