Jerome E. Honigford
Jerome E. Honigford, 82, died at 7:25 p.m. Dec. 24, 2006, at his residence.
He was born on March 29, 1924, in Ottoville to Benjamin and Frances Bohn Honigford, who preceded him in death. He married Elizabeth ?Betty? Ruth Moreo, who Delphos.
Mr. Honigford worked at Fruehauf and retired from International Harvester. He was an Army veteran serving at Fort Campbell, Ky. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Delphos, where he was a cantor and a member of the men?s choir. He was a member and lead signer of the String Highlighters. He was a graduate of Ottoville High School. He was an avid gardener and he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Marie) Honigford, Steven Honigford, and Tim Honigford, all of Delphos; a daughter, Beverly (Tom) Jettinghoff, of Delphos; a sister, Jeanett (Gerald) Swavy, of Payne; two brothers, James (JoAnn) Honigford, and Don (Doris) Honigford, both of Ottoville; and a grandson, Aaron Honigford.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Honigford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. A parish wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
