DelphosMelvin C. Wrasman, 81, died at 4:24 a.m. June 24, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center.He was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Delphos to Edward and Elizabeth Klima Wrasman, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 29, 1956, he married Ruth Wieging, who died March 1, 1995. On Dec. 6, 2003, he married Barbara Moreo, who survives in Delphos.Mr. Wrasman was a field engineer for IBM for 30 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1950 to 1953. He loved to socialize and have a good time. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He lived for the moment and loved life.Survivors include two sons, Michael (Marlene) Wrasman, of Delphos, and Dan (Margaret) Wrasman, of Crown Point, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara (Jeff) Stant, of Van Wert, and Elaine (Heath) Kreiling, of Pandora; six sisters, Irma (Tom) Buettner, of Delphos, Alice (Gene) Rayman, of Elida, Mary Lou (Bill) Browning, of Ashville, Marg (Charlie) Ashby and Jane (Ron) Goergens, both of Delphos, and Sister Mary Gail, of Toledo; a brother, Gene Wrasman, of Tennessee; three sisters-in-law, Alfreda Wieging, of Delphos, Mary Wrasman, of Cridersville, and Joyce Moreo, of Delphos; two brothers-in-law, Carl Wieging, of Lima, and Mike (Cheryl) Moreo, of Terre Haute, Ind.; and seven grandchildren, Evan, Aaron, Johnathan, Anne, Jessica, Brayden and Caleb.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Dick Wrasman; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wieging.Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a K. of C. service will be held at 7 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Memorial Park.
