  [S927] Obituary. April 4, 2010 CANTON - Cary M. Betts, 66, of Canton, passed away Thursday (April 1, 2010). He was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Canton, to the late Guy and Ferna Betts. Cary was employed with Republic Steel for 35 years and M.K. Morris for six years, retiring from both. He enjoyed NASCAR and dirt car racing, woodworking and hunting. He also enjoyed watching college football and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. Cary will be greatly missed by his wife, Maureen, to whom he was married 22 wonderful years; two sons, Guy Betts of Canton and Greg Betts of Brewster; daughter, Ann-Marie Smith of Massillon; four grandsons, Michael (Bobbi) Alexander, Jon Betts, Cody Betts and Zack Betts; three great-grandchildren, Payton, Diana and Maggie; sisters, Joyce (Robert) Burns of Reynoldsburg, Pam (Tom) Lower and Kathy (Greg) Whited, all of Pataskala; brother, Leroy (Barb) Betts of Cambridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special ?thank you? to the Mercy Medical Center, eighth floor nurses and Dr. Decoy for their outstanding care and kindness. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home. In honor of Cary?s wishes, he will be cremated following services.
