James H. Courts, oldest son of Martin and Elizabeth Dunn Courts, was born on January 12, 1858, and passed away April 17, 1942, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 5 days.
On October 13, 1881, he married Charlotte Miller. To them was born one daughter, Mrs. Henry Henize, who survives them. Mrs. Courts died on November 7, 1937.
Besides his daughter, Mrs. Henry Henize, he leaves to mourn his loss, two brothers, George E. Courts, and Orman F. Courts, two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Kendall, of Foster, Ohio, and Mrs. Bertha Goldsberry, of Hamersville, Ohio. A third sister, Arminda, being deceased. Also two grandchildren, Victor Henize and Mrs. Virginia Kattine also survive, as well as five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Many other relatives and friends sorrow at his going.
Mr. Courts, until about six years ago, was active as a farmer, his lifelong occupation, which he loved. He also found great pleasure in his home and greatly enjoyed having folks come to his home to visit with him.
Nearly 20 years ago he united with the Georgetown Presbyterian church and attended its services when he was able to do so.
