Ward Chaney, 85, of 225 Second St., Nellie Village, died Wednesday, Aug 22, 1990, at University Hospital in Columbus after an extended illness. Born Sept. 27, 1904, in Washington Township, Coshocton County, he was a son of Etna and Altha Louisa (Dickerson) Chaney. He was a retired farmer and logger and for more than 20 years, was an employee and caretaker at Valley View Cemetery of Warsaw. On Sept. 8, 1927, he married the former Ruby Young, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth Chaney of Coshocton and Don Chaney of Cooperdale; a step-brother, Lester Maston of Orrville; two stepsisters, Virgie Thomas of Cooperdale and Delpha Rhode of Orrville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Wilbur Beaver and the Rev. James Hill officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
