Mary Louise Shinn Christman of Boulder died of natural causes Saturday, May 8, 2004, in Boulder. She was 87.
The daughter of Clay B. Shinn and Helen Graham Shinn, she was born March 19, 1917, in Ottawa, Kan. She married Gilbert E. Christman in February 1939 in Dallas. They divorced in 1980.
Mrs. Christman worked for the University of Colorado Police Department.
She moved to Boulder in 1952.
Mrs. Christman enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, fishing, cooking and watching CU football games.
"We remember her for her strength, traveling with friends and family gatherings, and her dedication to her children and grandchildren," her family said.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen McKeown of Boulder and Mary J. Ransom of Boulder; a son, Gilbert E. Christman of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and a sister, Nancy Miller.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church Chapel, 1419 Pine St., Boulder. The Revs. James McKeown of St. John's Episcopal Church and Lisa Ransom of St. Dunston Episcopal Church in Waitsfield, Vt., will officiate.
