Katherine Elizabeth Hall
September 3, 1917 ? October 18, 2018
Katherine Elizabeth Lipp Hall, 101, died October 18th 2018 at Friendship Village in Bloomington Minnesota. The only child of William George Lipp and Mary Teresa Allmann Lipp, Mrs. Hall was born in Princeton, Minnesota on September 3rd, 1917. She moved with her parents to Waconia Minnesota as a preschooler in 1923. Katherine?s grandfather, Sebastian Allmann, was among the earliest settlers in Waconia, having migrating there from Germany in 1854.
After attending St Joseph?s Catholic School, Katherine graduated from Waconia High School as valedictorian of her 1935 class. A degree from Minneapolis Business College in hand, she went to work as a secretary for the head of the Cornelius Company in Minneapolis. There she met Wayne A. Hall, a senior machinist. The two were married at St. Joseph Church in Waconia on November 6, 1943 and settled in Minneapolis.
After the birth of their first child, the young couple returned to Waconia where Wayne worked with Katherine?s father at Carver County Oil, a Pure Oil station. Katherine served as the company?s bookkeeper. Katherine and Wayne were the parents of five children, Kathleen M. Hall Jamieson (Robert D. Jamieson), William V. Hall, James W. Hall (Kathy Huddle-Hall), Rita Clare Hall (Tim F. Plick), and Anita Jean Hall (Larry A. Frost); the grandparents of ten, Robert and Patrick Jamieson, Elizabeth and Sarah Hall, Michael and David Hall, Katie Ann and Tim Plick, and William A. and W. Scott Frost, and; the great grandparents of four, Finnian, Sylvia, Ava Katherine, and Gabrielle Jamieson.
In 1968, the Halls closed Carver County Oil and took jobs in Minneapolis, Wayne at the University of Minnesota as a driver, Katherine as a customer service associate at IDS. After retiring Katherine served for more than two decades as the sacristan for St. Joseph Church in Waconia. Wayne died on April 9, 2006.
Katherine remained in Waconia until 2013 when she moved to Friendship Village to be closer to her daughter Anita and son, Bill, both of whom live in the Twin Cities area.
For her hundredth birthday in 2017, her children dedicated a bench in her honor at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska MN, next to the one Katherine had dedicated to Wayne at his death. At her request, the dedication on the bench reads ?100 years of memories?.
Mrs. Hall donated her body for medical education and research at Mayo Clinic. Her final resting place will be next to her husband in St. Joseph?s Catholic cemetery in Waconia where some of the earliest graves are those of her Allmann and Lipp ancestors.
A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph?s Church in Waconia on Saturday, November 3rd at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, it would please Mrs. Hall if memorials were instead sent to St. Joseph?s Church Cemetery Maintenance fund at 41 East First Street, Waconia Minnesota, 55387.

Allmann (I14176)Tree: Südpfalz / Southern PalatinateLink: http://www.birkenhoerdt.net/getperson.php?personID=I14176&tree=SuedpfalzDescription: Mary Allmann and William Lipp were married on October 6, 1906 which was a Saturday. This is according to my mother, Katherine Lipp Hall, who was their daughter and who remembers her parents always "making a big deal" to celebrate their wedding date. I realize the record say October 10, but we assume that was when the license was filed. We will verify this with the church records.Anita Hall (I14817)

Description: Katherine Lipp Hall is my mother. She was married to my
father, Wayne A Hall on November 6, 1943. I'm getting this information
first hand as my mother is still alive and well at nearly 100. The date
you have listed for their marriage is the date that Katherine's parents
were wed. Thanks Anita
