I also found two records showing his marriage to Theresa Yahn, who was previously married to Louis Altmeyer. I don't know why there are two different dates.

Note: I am thinking that the Edward listed in the 1880 census is actually the Edward Werner you have listed as being born around 1852. This was the date given in the death register. However, upon reviewing his marriage record to Sarah Stewart, I discovered that his estimated DOB was 1859. I will send that suggestion, under is name.
