  OBITUARY: Vincent G. Hammer Vincent G. Hammer Vincent G. Hammer, age 85, of Massillon passed away Friday September 8, 2006 at his residence. Vincent was born June 8, 1921 in Massillon to the late Victor and Eleanor (Garver) Hammer. During World War II he served in the Pacific with the Army Air Corp. Engineers. He was employed by Grissom-Russell and retired from Irwin Steel. After retiring to his farm, he raised cattle and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Natalie Ann; son-in-law, David Feather; five sisters and two brothers, Esther, Grace, Mildred, Mary, Catherine, Sylvester and Leo. He is survived by wife. Jean (Packer) Hammer. with whom he would have shared 63 years of marriage on November 23; five children and spouses, Kathy Feather, Gwen (Terry) Hemperly, Vicki Lupsor, Jeannie (Jim) Bullock, and Kim (Steve) Crescenze; grandchildren, Monica Kring, Mark Feather, Brian Hemperly, Amy Hemperly, Kara Hemperly, Katie (Chris) McNeil, Marisa Lupsor, Andrew Lupsor, Andrea Bullock, Abby Bullock, Natalie Crescenze and Sam Crescenze; and twin great-grandsons, Adam and Nathan Kring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
