Deborah Lee Kennedy Fleming of Delta died on Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was 54.
Deborah was born in Denver on Jan. 31, 1954, to Harry Baker and Alice Marie (Heckman) Eicholtz. Deborah spent the first part of her life in Denver; she graduated from Abe Lincoln High School in Denver.
Deborah has been a resident of Delta for the past nine years coming from Bridgeport, Texas. Deborah was married to Willis Albert ?Al? Fleming in Delta on Oct. 5, 2001. He survives. She was previously married to Reid Kennedy in Denver; he preceded her in death in June of 1998 in Decatur, Texas.
She loved to cook and was a big-time dog lover. She enjoyed country-western music and loved to play the guitar and sing. She was learning how to paint.
Those grateful to have shared in Deborah's life are her husband, Al Fleming of Delta; her sons Shawn M. (Rachel) Kennedy of Paradise, Texas, and Ryan P. (Sissy) Kennedy of Bridgeport, Texas; half-brothers Harry Baker ?Skip? Eicholtz Jr. of Maryland and David Dishlacoff of New York; half-sister Diane Dalmy of Denver; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reid Kennedy; her parents; and her stepmother, Jean Eicholtz.
Memorial services were held Monday, Feb. 25.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
