Susan V. Seebaugh
Susan V. (Firman) Seebaugh, 86, of Worthington Manor Nursing Home, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Delaware, Ohio, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Minnie M. (Pendleton) Firman. She was a 1936 graduate of Worthington High School in north Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother.
Throughout her adult life she had been a Sunday school teacher, a child care provider and a clerk in area retail stores. She was also assistant activities director at the Randolph County Senior Center in Elkins and was also known as an excellent cook and baker.
Surviving are three daughters, Juanita Castanon and husband, Tony, of Coal City, Merilyn Cornell and husband, Seth, of Cairo and Donna Summerfield and husband, Don, of Cresaptown, Md.; one son-in-law, Marlin Dennis of Parkersburg; two sisters, Arlene Collins and Grace Vari, both of Columbus; one brother, Robert Firman of Royal Oak, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Dennis; a grandson, Randy Barnette; two brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Father Arthur Bennett of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church or to Worthington Manor Nursing Home.
